The Bahamas is officially known as the Commonwealth of The Bahamas.  It is an independent and sovereign English speaking country which has two thousands cays and seven hundred islands in the form of an archipelago. This beautiful small country is situated in the Atlantic Ocean south east to the United States. It is located north of Cuba, Hispaniola and the Caribbean Sea. This country remains a Commonwealth realm.
